But there have been other books written--and written about on this blog.
After Book the First, I wrote:
- A Regency romance, taking place in 1814, featuring Mady Keegan, her sister Alexandra, and their estate house in trouble. Mady met and fell in love with Henry. Mady was the mulatto daughter of a merchant and Alexandra was white. The first 35 pages were sent to the Emily Contest, where I received some really excellent feedback. After a second draft, this story was abandoned.
- Then came Last Request, a contemporary, paranormal story about Eva Fontaine, a single mother with a troubled past, and her childhood best friend (and father of her child) Brixton. On the eve of her brother's wedding, Eva is hit by a car and wakes up in the body of Brixton's on-again, off-again girlfriend, Jade. Eva must find a way to return to her own body, which lays in a coma.
- Iggy, a 2010 NaNoWriMo project. Iggy was about a young boy raised in a Tudor-England-era monastery. He is the son of one of the brothers and one of the nuns. Iggy comes of age during Henry VIII's Reformation, which destroys everything Iggy knows. My first NaNo project and win.
- The second incarnation of that pesky Keegan family. Instead of a historical romance, this story is historical fiction, is about Miles Keegan and his two daughters as they move to England from Barbados in 1800. I began querying this to literary agents in September 2014 under the title The Keegans of Banner's Edge. The third version of this story turned into Pearl.
