I've reached the halfway point in my utterly arbitrary 40-book reading challenge on Goodreads. This means that a) I'm halfway through and b) I'm 7 books ahead of where I should be.
Anyway, I finished Book 20 a few hours ago. Here is the lineup:

12. Mansfield Park by Jane Austen--4 stars--Classics
13. The Nazi Officer's Wife: How One Jewish Woman Survived The Holocaust by Edith Hahn Beer with Susan Dworkin--4 stars--Non-fiction/Memoir/WWII
14. A Shocking Delight by Jo Beverley--3 stars--Regency Historical Romance
15. Hazard by Jo Beverley--3 stars--Regency Historical Romance
16. Zero Sum Game by SL Huang--5 stars--Thriller/ Fantasy/Sci-fi--Review

I need to do more reading myself. This is a great way to remind us all how important it is to read! I take my shameful self away now and vow to read more books! I will make a list and commit. I promise.
ReplyDeleteA college friend is reading 52 books this year in her challenge. I figured I could read 40! I don't usually read much when I'm writing and it shows once I'm done with the draft :-\
DeleteWould love to see your list, Diane.
Those sound like some fascinating reads!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm trying to expand the types of books I read as well--I usually wallow in historical romance and historical fiction land. Though The Guns of August took, like, two months for me to get through because it was dense.
DeleteSo jealous!! I think I've read two books since your last update. *hides face* Plus I'm adding a couple of these to my TBR list. Like Zero Sum Game. Omg, sounds sooo good!
ReplyDeleteTeehee. Some of them I read in two days. The Guns of August took two months.
DeleteZero Sum Game was really good. Written by an AW'er, btw.
grrrr. And I'm still on the same one I started two months ago. How *do* you do it?! By June I hope to start reading more :))
ReplyDeleteI'm still on one I started two months ago as well---it's a short story collection by Dorothy Parker and it might be book 21 if I don't finish Songs of Willow Frost first.
DeleteI tend to read before falling asleep, like an old person :-)
